Summarised assessment of the Orthonyxie treatment using the "VHO-Osthold-Brace® perfect"
on children over a time period of 9 months through the eyes of a paediatrician.
We used to treat whitlows in connection with ingrown toenails either conservatively with soaks and creams or by performing segmental ablation or removing the whole nail on our young patients. These treatment methods were long and painful for the children with a relatively high rate of recurrence.
We have now been treating our patients with the VHO Osthold method for approximately 9 months. 10 patients aged between 8 – 16 years have required 4 – 6 appointments. There have been no recurrences of the condition. The children all said the treatment was pain free.
Even though the observation time and number of patients is fairly low, we find the success of the therapy and the orthonyxie treatment using the VHO Osthold method very convincing.
