The Development
In 1979, the chiropodist Elvira Osthold founded in Erlangen the "Institute for Orthonyxie" with
the aim to develop a method for treating ingrown nails as an alternative to surgery.
It took a lot of time, effort and cost to reach the result which is presented here: a painless and non
operative Therapy, called "Virtuose Human Orthonyxie" (VHO).
